Mr. Willow (The Bear Chef) is currently compiling his "Children's Healthy Eating Guide". He needs your help to discover restaurants, pubs and cafés that deliver heathy food for children, and to name and cellebrate these special "Eateries" so that other families can benefit from their excellent practice.

Mr. Willow's  "Children's Healthy Eating Guide" will recognise excellence and thoughtful delivery of healthy food for children, good customer service and facilities, and the use of local and fresh products in restaurants, pubs and cafés throughout the UK.

If you know of a restaurant, pub or cafe that deserves recognition for their healthy approach to children's food please let us know.

When recommended, we will invite your nominated "Eatery" to apply for personal recognition for their special service for children. Establishments who come recommended by their customers and who can demonstrate extremely high standards in the delivery of healthy children's food will be awarded Mr. Willow's Gold Award Logo and will be promoted on our website.
These establishments are expected to be:-
  • using healthy recipes and ingredients, fresh and predominently local produce.
  • offering appropriate dishes for children, considering their age and growth and developmental needs.
  • providing sensible portion sizes.
  • using low sugar and low salt options.
  • preparing dishes with healthy oils and fats.
  • offering suitable oily fish recipes.
  • delivering plentiful fruit and vegetables within and on the side.
  • delivering top class customer service.
  • operating high standards of food handling, preparation and kitchen hygeine.

We will then be happy to promote them on our website http://www.nurseryfood.com/

The Fleece Pub, Witney, Oxfordshire. (Part of the Peach Group)

We have always been more than delighted with the dining out experiences that we have had when we take the children out to eat at The Fleece in Witney. We are therefore always willing to go that extra mile to ensure that the children eat as well when we go out, as they do when they are at home.
Highchairs are available.
  • Colouring sheets and crayons appear whilst we were waiting for the meal to arrive.
  • There is no "Children's menu...Horray!  The meals that the children have are just smaller versions of the adult’s meals and were tasty, healthy options which were freshly cooked.
